Farm Family Chores…

The Feed Yard Foodie family is one short this week as my favorite brunette is competing in an Extemporaneous Speaking competition at the National Forensics League finals in Alabama; but my favorite farmer and I headed down to the pasture with our blondes yesterday morning to do a few chores.

My favorite 12 year old did an awesome job taking video and pictures that I was able to use to make the below video 🙂

Happy Father’s Day!

I loved the video! Great video work, to the multi talented Karyn!! And I dare not overlook Matt’s gate closing skills ☺. Was fun to see the Burkholder Family in action. Love you guys.

  2. Great video & camera work 🙂 We did farm chores yesterday as a farm too, I love the time spent with my 2 little men and the big one too, and I can’t forget Trip our trusty pup. Enjoy your summer!

    • Thank you! Enjoy your summer as well — I love it when the fields are green and the smell of hay permeates the air 🙂 And, a “trusty pup” always makes life fun. We are getting a new puppy in a few weeks and are excited to have a yellow lab running around on the farm to keep our old dog (and us) company.

  3. Your getting good at these videos 🙂 I love being out on pretty days doing farm chores with the chickens. Was out today weeding the garden and got the littlest baby chicks out for another venture outside. Your grass looks great. We have been a little too hot for the grass here, but supposed to get some rain later today, but I hope it holds off till after VBS at our church. (or comes before). Happy belated fathers day to Matt!

    • Thank you! Hope that timely rains bring green grass 🙂 I love this time of year when the hills and fields are alive with the gorgeous verdant greens of summer.

      Take care!

Great video. Congratulations to Ashley Grace for making it to the finals.

    • Thank you, Jim and Carol! She had a great experience at speech finals and now is taking a summer college class at Notre Dame University. She is growing up fast, but it is fun to watch her spread her wings and thrive 🙂

I hope that all is well in Wyoming. We are headed that way next weekend for a short visit with my mom. Looking forward to a few days in the pretty mountains. Great to hear from you!

Good Luck in the finals Ashley! You are amazing!

    • Thank you, Roger! She had a great experience and made some new friends along the way. I think that she found the culture in Birmingham, Alabama to be different from our life on the farm in Nebraska but she loves to see new things and really enjoyed her days spent there.

I hope that all is well in Iowa!
