Ode to Earth Day…

Christmas 2012 072

Earth Day

Earth, our fragile island home,

Is in need of saving, that is known.

Millenniums of humans have taken a toll

So now we must fix the wrong we doled.

Earth Day reminds us of that time we borrowed.

Recycling and conserving are more imperative than ever to secure a tomorrow!

  1. Good job Ashley… Happy Earth Day 🙂

    • Thank you, Karla! It is fun to watch her write and see what is circling around in her brain. I think that our children’s words and beliefs mirror what we teach them as parents. I am proud of all of my girls, and the responsible young ladies that they are becoming.

      All the best,
      Anne

  2. My very first time commenting on a blog! Each and every one of us has a responsibility to be the best stewards of our land and it’s creatures. Thank you, Ashley for your blog and sentiments.

    • Cindy,

I am honored to be your first comment on a blog! Thanks so much for reading and posting. I agree that we all must take responsibility for our natural resources and learn to be stewards. To me, it is the quest for improvement that drives me each and every day.

I will pass along your comment to Ashley Grace. Thanks again for reading and commenting! Welcome to the world of social media!

      Anne

  3. Anne, your daughter is gorgeous! And poetic 🙂 Aimee

    • Thank you, Aimee. I am very proud of the young lady that she is becoming. The fun part of being a parent is sitting back and watching your children figure out how to be positive contributors. We all have our gifts and talents—their uniqueness and our ability to share them is what makes our world sustainable.

      Great to hear from you!
      Anne

Too true, especially for my friends in Kiribati.

    • Coach Fav! It affects each one of us, although you are certainly correct that some parts of the world are more challenged than others. It is always fun for me to challenge AGs into writing poetry—interesting to see what all floats around in her brain 🙂

      Great to hear from you,
      Anne

  5. Sally Gibson

Ashley Grace, I will share your Earth Day poem with my students. Wonderful. Love, Grandma
