The only constant factor with spring weather in Nebraska is its ever-changing nature! Monday we began the week with 60 degrees and sun—by Tuesday we had received high winds and a nice 2+ inch rain—Wednesday we were covered in a layer of ice—Thursday there was snow on top of the ice—finally today we saw the sun again and temperatures rose above freezing!
I took some pictures throughout the week in order to share the ever changing roller coaster ride that Mother Nature takes us on…

And into my lined Livestock Waste Control Facility where we will store it for later use as irrigation water on our farm ground…

My favorite 8 year old is hoping for sun and warmth for tomorrow’s AYSO soccer game—keep your fingers crossed!
As the week draws to an end, I am thankful for the moisture and hope that it will bring a Sustainable Green Spring! Was your week a weather roller coaster ride as well?
I can relate here in Minnesota – although, we haven’t made it up to 60 degrees yet. We’re waiting (a bit impatiently) for that. The moisture is good, though – we need it here too. Enjoyed the photos of your up-and-down weather week – I guess that’s what spring is all about!
I have heard that the frozen north is still very frozen! Hopefully, you all will see spring soon. The ups and downs of spring weather seem to be a given in the Great Plains. I agree that the moisture is very much needed.
Have a great weekend!

Oh I hope she gets warm sun for her game tomorrow 🙂 Nebraska does have crazy weird weather… hope it calms down soon 🙂
She’s played in sun, she’s played in snow…But, sun is better!
Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Our weather has been crazy too!
April 4 and 5th The Rancher planted oats. .40″ rain Fri night, and another .40″ Sunday night. Monday the 8th our rain turned to ice and we ended up with 2-3″ of snow.
We had some sunshine during the week and Saturday more winter weather. Wind, cold and 2-3″ more snow.
We have been on the edges of these storms and have another coming our way tomorrow.
Lovely weather while we are in the heart of calving. We are so thankful for moisture! It’s funny to see grass trying to green up under the snow. Hopefully it is enough moisture to get the prairie growing.
